Attraverso un comunicato stampa, BlackBerry Limited ha annunciando che il suo software QNX è presente in oltre 120 milioni di automobili in tutto il mondo. Gli OEM utilizzano QNX per alimentare i propri gruppi di strumenti, i sistemi di infotainment e i sistemi di assistenza alla guida disponibili in numerosi marchi automobilistici tra cui Audi, BMW, Ford, KIA, Porsche e Volkswagen. Solo tre anni fa, la tecnologia QNX era presente in 60 milioni di veicoli. Oggi tale cifra è raddoppiata grazie alla tecnologia che include QNX Neutrino OS, QNX Platform per ADAS, QNX OS per la sicurezza, QNX CAR Platform per Infotainment, QNX Hypervisor 2.0 e QNX acoustics middleware.
BlackBerry Limited ha anche annunciato di aver aggiunto al proprio gruppo di software per il settore automobilistico tre nuovi prodotti certificati di sicurezza. Il QNX Hypervisor per la sicurezza di BlackBerry, la piattaforma QNX per ADAS 2.0 e QNX OS per Safety 2.0 offriranno la struttura per le case automobilistiche per sviluppare più rapidamente sistemi di sicurezza per i veicoli, riducendo al contempo i costi complessivi del progetto.

BlackBerry QNX Technology Now Embedded in More Than 120 Million Vehicles on the Road Today
NOVI, Mich., June 06, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- TU-Automotive Detroit – BlackBerry Limited (NYSE:BB) (TSX:BB) announced that its QNX software is now embedded in more than 120 million cars that are on the road today. Automotive OEMs and tier ones use BlackBerry QNX technology in the advanced driver assistance systems, digital instrument clusters, connectivity modules, handsfree systems, and infotainment systems that appear in car brands, including Audi, BMW, Ford, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, KIA, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Toyota, and Volkswagen.

Methodology
BlackBerry engaged with research and industry analyst firm, Strategy Analytics to verify the volume of QNX deployments based on the number of QNX products that are shipped in the automotive market and the number of cars that contain QNX products and technology. The vast majority of QNX software products that are integrated and used in automotive ECUs are licensed on a per-unit royalty basis.
